Chamberlain wins 3A golf title

MITCHELL — The Chamberlain Cubs swept the top two individual spots en route to a very close championship win Tuesday at the girls’ Region 3A golf tournament at Lakeview Golf Course.

Alexis Cronk shot 88 to claim medalist honors, with teammate Trey Speer two strokes back in second. Parkston’s Gracie Oakley was third with a 92.

Chamberlain shot a team total of 393 on the day, to edge Winner by three strokes. Mobridge-Pollock finished third in the team race, with Redfield finishing fourth.

Redfield’s Addisyn Evans shot 117 to finish 15th in the field and tie for the final state meet qualifying spot.

Other Pheasant golfers included Kalli Spotanske with a 130, Grace Lemmer with a 144 and Willow Ronnenberg, with a 154.

The Class A State girls’ golf tournament is June 3-4, on the Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
