Destination Imagination plans kick-off meeting Tuesday

Posted

HURON — Huron’s Destination Imagination will hold its annual kick-off Interest Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at Huron Middle School.

During this meeting they will introduce the 2024-2025 Team Challenges, Instant Challenges, and answer questions on what Destination Imagination is all about. They will start compiling teams and within a week or two teams will start meeting.

Huron has taken many teams to the Global Finals competition and this last year’s teams didn’t disappoint!

At the state tournament, all teams that make first or second place are eligible to compete at the Global level. They took three teams to Global Finals 2024 at Kansas City for Engineering, Fine Arts, and Technical.

The High School team, the Under Achievers, placed 21 out of 21 with the Team Challenge “Going the Distance.” The Middle School team, October Hounds, received 28 out of 36 with the team challenge “In Motion.” The Elementary team, Mooing Coocoo Cucumbers, tied for 26th place out of 39.

These teams work all school year to compete at these challenges and put in significant amounts of time and energy to have their challenge answers in tip top shape for competition in May.

Children in the Huron School District in grades preschool through 12th are eligible to be on the Huron DI Team.

Fundraising will be ramping up shortly and they want to thank all for your support.
