Generous donations grace fine arts concert

HURON — A free-will donation from those attending Saturday’s Huron High School Fine Arts Hall of Fame induction ceremony and concert raised more than $2700, according to event organizers.

“We are very pleased with the response from our community, as far as supporting the Fine Arts Hall of Fame,” said induction committee chair Teresa Smith.

“The Huron community has always been very supportive of the arts!”

Organizers said that the funds raised will go to the Huron School District Foundation for use in planning future events. Committee member Rhonda Kludt noted that expenses were minimal, due to the large amount of in-kind donations from sponsors of the event.

Saturday’s concert included the induction of Milo Pietz as the first member of the Fine Arts Hall of Fame, and the announcement of the William Anderson Family Music Scholarship Fund, earmarked for the use of a music education student.
