HHS Homecoming week begins Monday

HURON — Huron High School Homecoming 2024 kicks off Monday, with a full week of themed dress-up days, coronation of this year’s King and Queen and wraps up on Friday with a re-routed parade and the homecoming football game against Sturgis Brown High School.

Here’s a sneak peak at the range of events slated for the upcoming week.

Monday — Candyland dress up (pajamas), Huron vs. Yankton, volleyball at Huron Arena, followed by the coronatio of this year’s King and Queen.

Tuesday — Chess dress up (black and/or white clothing). Cheer and Dance host Huron Invitational at Huron Arena.

Wednesday — Game of Life (9th grade, babies; 10th, teenagers; 11th adults; 12th elderly).

Thursday — Scrabble (dress inspired by the first letter of your name)

Friday — Battleship (Class t-shirts), Homecoming parade is 2 p.m., on the S.D. State Fairgrounds, Tailgate at Tiger Stadium at 5:30 p.m., followed by the football game with Sturgis at 7.

Parade note: Due to the street construction downtown, this year’s parade is on the S.D. State Fairgrounds. Floats will line up on the carnival mat and exit Gate 6, on to Lincoln Avenue to Third Street, left on Third to Nevada, north to Market Street, then west on Market to Gate 4.5.
