District 3B Tournament begins Saturday

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — The Wessington Springs Owls, who posted a record of 9-5 this season in the Pony Hills League, will be the second seed for the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association’s District 3B Tournament, which begins Saturday in Wessington Springs.

The Owls will face seventh-seeded Colome (4-10) in the third game of the opening round at 4:30 p.m.

With a 13-1 record, Kimball/White Lake holds the top seed for the tournament and will face No. 8 Chamberlain (3-11) in the opening game at noon on Saturday.

Fourth-seeded Four Corners (7-7) will face fifth-seeded Winner (7-7) at 2 p.m., and in the final game of the opening round, third-seeded Plankinton (7-7) will face No. 6 burke (6-8) at 6:30 p.m.

The second round will be held in Wessington Springs on Sunday. The losers of the first two games will meet at noon, followed by the losers of the final two games at 2 p.m.

The first semi-final matchup is slated for 4:30 p.m., followed by the second at 6:30 p.m.

The final half of the tournament will be held July 29-Aug. 1 in Chamberlain.
