HURON — Second-grade students at both James Valley Christian School and Holy Trinity Catholic School enjoyed a visit from members of the Huron Fire Department this week, as part of Fire Prevention Week.
Fire department personnel shared information on fire safety, how a firefighter’s gear helps protect them, the importance of creating an escape plan from your home in case of fire, how to check smoke alarms and why you want to change batteries.
The students enjoyed seeing a fire truck up close and learning fire safety inside the fire department’s inflatable house.
