WATERTOWN — Huron 13/14u participated in the Pizza Ranch Youth Baseball Tournament at Foundations Fields in Watertown over the weekend.

Huron opened the tournament with an 8-5 victory over Harrisburg Maroon Saturday morning.

In the second game of the tournament for Huron, they fell 12-2 to tourney host Watertown Grey Sox after Watertown had a 9-run third inning to blow open the game.

Three Huron errors keyed the big outburst for Watertown as Huron starting pitcher Gilbert allowed 11 runs (just two earned) over 3 1/3 innings on eight hits and four walks, striking out five. Ryker Shelton allowed an unearned run while getting just one out, but the one run kicked in the 10-run rule for an automatic Watertown win.

Gilbert had a double and a walk while also stealing a base. Culver had a single, a walk, and a steal.

Ford swiped two bases in the loss.

Huron played the Beresford Black Sox Sunday in the final game of the weekend, coming away with a mercy rule-aided 11-1 victory.

Huron scored seven runs in the third inning and finished with four in the fourth to walk off with the victory.

Culver pitched four innings for Huron, allowing an unearned run on one hit and one walk, striking out three.

The Tigers put 18 runners on base in just four innings. Ford led the way with a pair of singles and a walk from the leadoff spot. Parker Bischoff had a pair of singles.

Gilbert, Koops, and Ernest Wallette each had a single and a walk. Rashaad and Janes each had a walk and were hit by a pitch. Culver stole a base.
