MITCHELL — The Huron 13/14U Tigers dropped two games on Friday to Mitchell 14U Black in Mitchell by the scores of 12-1 and 12-3.

In the first game, Huron struck first with a run in the second inning as Colt Culver singled and advanced to second as Noah Koops reached on catcher’s interference.

Sean Janes singled to center field to drive in Culver.

The Tigers would load the bases, but could not push another run across that inning, and Mitchell took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the inning.

Black would score two more innings in the third inning to push the lead to 4-1 before exploding for eight runs in the bottom of the fifth to walk off with a run-rule 12-1 victory.

Culver allowed four runs over four innings on four hits and a walk, striking out one. Janes allowed eight runs on five hits and three walks while recording just one out in the fifth inning.

Culver led the offense with a pair of singles and a hit by pitch as the only Tiger who reached base twice in the game.

Huron again grabbed an early lead in the second game but could not hold on.

Mitchell scored first with a run in the bottom of the first inning, but the Tigers took the lead in the top of the second.

Noah Gray walked to drive a run and Jimmie Martin was hit by pitch, pushing another run across. A wild pitch scored Ryman, making it 3-1 Huron.

Mitchell would reclaim the lead in the bottom of the inning, 4-3, and then added two more big innings in the fourth and fifth innings to claim a 12-3 victory.
