MITCHELL – Huron 14U Tigers were able to put up four runs over the final two innings to seal with an 8-5 victory in Mitchell Wednesday night.
The Tigers put up a three-run first inning to take the lead, and they would never allow Mitchell to tie or take the lead the rest of the way, but the home team continued to chip away, ending the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh before Huron was able to close out the win.
Anderson Porisch had a strong start for Huron, going six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk, striking out five. Nolan Stahly closed out the game, allowing two runs in the final inning on one hit.
Porisch and Gavin Waldner paced the Huron offense. Porisch totaled three hits, with a home run and triple as well as two stolen bases. Waldner reached base three times on a single and two walks, and he ran wild, with six stolen bases.
Landon Hulst added a triple. Cooper Bischoff, Korbin Brock, and Diego Colon each stole a base.
The Tigers take a 10-4 record on the road to face Harrisburg tonight.
