HURON – The Huron Tigers freshman football team opened the season with a big win over the Watertown Arrows 38-6 Thursday in Huron.
Landon Hulst led the Tigers offensive attack with 15 carries for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground while throwing for 131 yards on 11 of 12 passing and four scores. Hulst also totaled six tackles on defense.
Blake Ellwein grabbed three balls, all for touchdowns, for 49 yards. Tommie Martin had the other touchdown reception as he totaled three catches for 24 yards.
Oakley Anderson spearheaded the Tiger defense with nine tackles.
The freshman Tigers return to action Thursday visiting Aberdeen Central.
