SIOUX FALLS — Against two of the top teams in the Class A ranks, the Huron boys’ tennis team came away with a 1-1 record.
“We played very good competition today,” Huron coach Tim Hedblom said. “The boys played really well against St. Thomas More.”
The Tigers inked a 6-3 victory against St. Thomas More.
Earning singles victories for Huron were Dah Christ Moo at No. 1, Matthew Thin at No. 2, Lah Doh Soe at No. 3 and Hser Wah at No. 4.
The top two doubles teams also collected victories for the Tigers.
“Dah, Matthew, Lah Doh, and Hser picked up great wins in singles,” Hedblom said. “Dah/Maner Htoo played tough and picked up a good win at 1 doubles. Lah Doh/Hser played a complete match and got a quality win at 2 doubles.”
Huron then closed the day with an 8-1 setback against Sioux Falls Christian.
“We played tough against Sioux Falls Christian, which has to be the favorite in Class A,” Hedblome said. “Maner lost a 3rd set tiebreaker at flight 6 and Lah Doh lost a 3rd set tiebreaker at flight 3. Both of them played great, but came up short.
“Say Poe was able to get a great win in a 3rd set tiebreaker at flight 5,” he said. “I am proud of how our boys play and don’t give up. They battle to the end.”
