Huron gymnasts eighth in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN — With the top two gymnasts in the all-around, Harrisburg won the title during the Hub City Invitational on Saturday.

Harrisburg finished with 142.075 points, while O’Gorman was second at 134.625. Pierre was third at 132.250, followed by Watertown at 132.250 and Aberdeen Central at 126.500.

Huron was eighth at 115.875.

Brinley Sanderson won the all-around title for Harrisburg with a 36.125, while teammate Jersy Tryon was second at 35.450.

O’Gorman teammates Ella Luttman and Rose Dvoracek were third and fourth, respectively, with scores of 34.525 and 33.525. Nevaeh Karber of Pierre and teammate Ryen Sheppick shared the fifth spot with a scores of 33.375.

Huron’s Cameron Ruth was 15th in the all-around with a 30.800. Alivia Cunard and Ellie Puterbaugh finished with scores of 29.250 for the Tigers.

Sanderson won the floor exercise for Harrisburg with a 9.550. Ruth had the top score for Huron with an 8.525, while Cunard recorded an 8.000.

Meredith Hruby of Harrisburg won on the beam with a 9.425. Cunard had Huron’s top score of 8.200, while Puterbaugh turned in an 8.100 and Ruth finished at 8.000.

Ailee Johnson of Harrisburg won the bars with a 9.075. Ruth had a 6.350 to lead Huron.

Ella Luttman of O’Gorman won on the vault with a 9.000. Puterbaugh had an 8.15 for Huron, while Ruth finished at 7.925.

Huron will host Madison and Yankton in a triangular at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Tiger Activity Center.
