To the Editor:
It seems our President doesnt hate oil so much as the damage caused by fuel and natural gas combustion.

We must face the truth; climate change caused by greenhouse gases is a fact. We must change our ways.

Transportation accounts for 27% of the greenhouse gases produced. Ford Motor Company says it will be 100% EVs by 2035, as does Toyota, the worlds largest personal vehicle producer. California, Americas largest vehicle market, reports 31% of new personal vehicles sold in 2023 are EVs. The energy requirements for such change is stupendous, yet theres not been rolling blackouts as seen 25 years ago.

Why? Adaptation.

Change occurs because its profitable. The tax breaks for American-made EVs have two purposes; jump-start purchases and produce good paying jobs. The cost for servicing our Tesla has been zero. Fuel costs for a round trip to Sioux Falls is less than $15.

Instead of burning oil, lets use it in construction. Composite materials dont warp, rot, and seem resistant to termites.

Why America trusts Trump with our economy more than Biden is confusing. Under the Trump administrations tax cut, our debt grew by $8 trillion, with $1.8T due to COVID. Still, $6.2T represents over 20% of Americas total debt. I attended Dusty Johnsons Putters and Scoops meeting. I asked about Trumps tax break and $8 Trillion. He replied, Balderdash! America had the highest tax revenues ever during the Trump Administration.

Dusty, the huge increase in our debt under Donald Trump is due to what?

President Bidens $2.39T Infrastructure and Inflation Reduction Acts is for needed upgrades. This means good jobs for Americans. Its spread over 10 years, financed by a 15% tax on profits of corporations worth over $1Billion.

After three difficult years, unemployment is 3.7%, inflation 3.2%. Compare starting wages for 2020 and today.
