WOLSEY After a tight first half that saw numerous lead changes, the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds used a 26-12 offensive burst in the third quarter to pull ahead and then held on for a 68-62 victory to close out Thursdays action at the Big Bo Classic in Wolsey.

The Warbirds remain unbeaten at 4-0 behind 21 points from Caleb Richmond and 20 points from Moshe Richmond. The two Richmond brothers combined for 19 of the Warbirds 26 points in their third quarter outburst.

The Kougars fall to 1-2 despite three players in double-figure scoring, led by Gus Stout with 18 points. Kole Hermann and Riley Running Enemy each had 10 points.

The Warbirds travel to Faulkton Area today while the Kougars host Lead-Deadwood.

Dell Rapids St. Mary 56, De Smet 48
DE SMET Second-ranked Dell Rapids stayed unbeaten with a 56-48 victory against De Smet on Thursday.

The Cardinals, who are now 5-0, led 14-10 after the opening quarter and held a 25-18 lead heading into the second half. They widened the gap to 43-30 in the third quarter.

Trevon Beckman finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and nine steals to lead Dell Rapids St. Mary. Trimmier Hanson also reached double figures with 15 points.

Grant Wilkinson was the lone player to reach double figures for De Smet, with 18 points. Carter Wilkinson and Ganon Henrich had nine and eight points, respectively.

Grant Wilkinson also led the Bulldogs, who are now 2-2, with 15 rebounds. Samuel Gigov had five assists, while Grant Wilkinson, Henrich and Gigov each had two steals.

De Smet will play in the Americas Hometown Basketball Classic today in Madison. Dell Rapids St. Mary will travel to play Garretson on Tuesday.

DE SMET Behind 19 points from Madala Hanson, Dell Rapids St. Mary earned a 55-36 victory against De Smet on Thursday.

Jenna Miller had 13 points for the Cardinals, who improved to 4-1, while Maddyn LeBrun added nine points.

LeBrun also had a team-high eight rebounds for DRSM.

Hazel Luethmers led De Smet with 18 points. Mirra Beck and Brooke Jennings finished with six and five points, respectively.

Beck also had eight rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs, who are now 3-2. Megan Dylla recorded three assists.

De Smet will host Deuel on Monday. Dell Rapids St. Mary is at the Midwest Miracles Classic today in Hurley.
