Kludt wins city commission race

HURON Huron voters decided on Tuesday to elect Rhonda Kludt to the Huron City Commission, as she defeated incumbent Drew Weinreis.

With eleven percent of eligible voters casting a ballot, 477 marked the box next to Kludts name compared to 381 for Weinreis. Those numbers are unofficial until the city commission canvasses the election.

Weinreis served one term on the commission after being elected to fill the seat of Kludts husband, Doug Kludt, in 2021. He defeated Bridget Carr and Sarah Rogers to win his seat.

While voters did not cast a ballot in the race, two Huron School Board positions were filled. With two openings, both incumbent Garrett Bischoff and newcomer Levi Kary were automatically elected to the board.
