Area teams prepare for SoDak 16 on Tuesday

Clark/Willow Lake seeded third for Class A SoDak 16
HURON — With a 19-2 record, Clark/Willow Lake will be the third seed for the Class A SoDak 16, which will be held Tuesday at various sites throughout the state. 

The Cyclones will play No. 14 McCook Central/Montrose, which is 15-6, at Watertown Civic Arena at 8 p.m.

Undefeated West Central, which is 21-0, is the top seed for the Class A SoDak 16 and will play No. 16 Webster are(14-8) in the Madison gym at 7 p.m.

Second-seeded Sioux Falls Christian (19-1) plays No. 15 Wagner (16-6) at 5:30 p.m., in the Madison gym. 

Fourth-seeded Hamlin (19-3) plays No. 13 Raid City Christian (14-8) in Chamberlain at 7 p.m.; fith-seed Groton Area (17-4) plays No. 12 Pine Ridge (14-8) in Chamberlain at 5:30 p.m.; sixth-seeded Stanley County (19-2) plays No. 11 Flandreau (15-7) in Miller at 7:30 p.m.; seventh-seeded Lennox (17-5) plays No. 10 St. Thomas More (16-5) in Winner at 7 p.m.; and eighth-seeded Mahpiya Luta (18-3) plays No. 9 Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (19-3). 

The winners from Tuesday’s games advance to the Class A State Tournament, which is March 19-21 at the Monument in Rapid City. 

De Smet, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket set for Class B SoDak 16 on Tuesday
HURON —  De Smet will be the No. 3 seeded for the Class B SoDak 16 and will be involved in the first of two game played at Huron Arena on Tuesday. 

The Bulldogs, who are 18-4, willplay No. 14-seeded Ipswich, which is 14-8, at 5:30 p.m.

The second game Tuesday at Huron Arena will feature seventh-seeded Leola/Frederick Area, which is 17-5, against No. 10-seeded Lyman, which is (16-6) at 7 p.m.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket is the No. 11 seed with a 17-5 record and play sixth-seeded Wall (18-4) at Kadoka Area High School at 6 p.m. MT. l

Viborg-Hurley, with a 19-3 record, is the top seed for the Class B SoDak 16 and will face No. 16 16 White River (12-10) at Mitchell High School at 5:30 p.m. Second-seeded Freeman, which is 20-2) will also play at Mitchell High School against No. 15 Lower Brule (12-10) at 7 p.m.

Fourth-seed Aberdeen Christian (19-3) will play No. 13 Sioux Falls Lutheran (16-6) at Watertown Civic Arena at 6 p.m.; fifth-seeded Castlewood (19-3) plays No. 12 Timber Lake (15-7) at Miller High School at 5:30 p.m.; and eighth-seeded Sully Buttes (17-5) plays No. 9 Dupree (18-4) in Gettysburg at 7 p.m.

The winners from Tuesday’s games will advance to the Class B State Tournament, which is scheduled for March 19-21 at the Barnett Center in Aberdeen.
