“Strong relationships between rural emergency departments and EMS teams are critical when every second counts,” said Jackie Kleinsasser, RN, emergency department director and trauma coordinator at Huron Regional Medical Center. “By coming together and providing awareness and education to our community, we’re creating safer, more prepared communities.”
“This event is a great opportunity for the community to meet the individuals who provide emergency and healthcare services throughout the region while learning valuable lifesaving skills and supporting rural healthcare,” said Mikayla Titus, Executive Director of NESD AHEC.
The event is supported through funding provided by the South Dakota Department of Health Rural Service Designation Grant awarded to NESD AHEC to strengthen rural EMS through outreach, education, and community engagement efforts.
Community members are encouraged to attend, bring their families, and help celebrate and support the EMS professionals and healthcare teams who serve the Huron area every day.
