Hitchcock/Tulare 60, Estelline-Hendricks 6
TULARE – The Hitchcock/Tulare Patriots flexed the defensive muscle early and kept the pedal down, defeating the Estelline-Hendricks Redhawks 60-6 Friday in Tulare.

The Patriots move to 3-2 with the win behind a dominant defense that did plenty of scoring.

Hitchcock/Tulare scored on two interception returns by Jack Boomsma, a punt return by Kyle Hamilton, and a fumble return by Erik Salmen as more than half of the Patriots’ seven touchdowns came on defense or special teams.

Boomsma also recorded two touchdown runs, a pair of 2-point conversions on the ground, and one 2-point conversion pass on the night. Hamilton added a pair of 2-point conversion runs as well.

Caden Ching led the Redhawks with 62 rushing yards.

The Patriots host Britton-Hecla Friday in Tulare.
