REDFIELD — Bonita Lorraine (Batien) Wurz, 95, of Redfield, passed away surrounded by her loving family Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at Community Memorial Hospital Avera in Redfield.
A private family graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield, with Pastor Lorah Houser Jankord officiating. The service will be uploaded to the funeral home website.
Bonita Lorraine Batien was born Nov. 13, 1924, to Carl and Florence (Behrens) Batien in Bryant.
She married Harold Wurz on Jan. 13, 1944, in Denver, Colo. They lived in the Doland. They moved to Redfield in 1990.
She is survived by her son, Lon (Denise) Wurz of Waddell, Ariz.; daughter, Mary Jo (Skip) Williams of Frankfort; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a niece.
She was preceded in death her husband in 1997; one grandchild; brothers-in-law Irvin Wurz and Erwin Wipf; and sister-in-law Marion Wipf.
