HURON — The Brandon Valley Lynx took top honors in both the Cheer and the Dance portions of the ESD Conference meet Thursday evening at Huron Arena.
The Lynx scored 256.5 to win the Cheer portion of the meet, while Watertown was second with 239.5 and Harrisburg was eight points back in third.
Huron’s Cheer team ended with 225.5 points on the day, good enough for a fourth-place finish.
In the Dance portion of the meet, Brandon Valley won two categories - taking Jazz with a score of 285, and Kick with a 275 - and finishing second in Pom with 262.5, for a 274.17 average.
Huron finished second with an average score of 260.67, which included a win in the Hip Hop category with 262 points, a second in Jazz with 274 and a fifth-place effort in Pom, with 246 points.
Next up for all schools with be the State Cheer and Dance Meet, set for Oct. 21 in Rapid City.
