HURON — Curtis A. Juntunen, 84 of Huron, formerly of Bryant, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Cremation has taken place and at Curtis’ request, no formal services will be held.
Curtis A. Juntunen was born January 12, 1933, in Bryant to Dave and Emma (Kangas) Juntunen. He attended county school in the area and graduated from Bryant High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in June of 1954, and was honorably discharged in March of 1956.
He was united in marriage to Kay Everson June 23, 1956, in Bryant. The couple lived and farmed in the Bryant area until their retirement in 1979.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He also served as County Commissioner for Hamlin County from 1973 until 1983. He and his wife of 54 years, Kay, also enjoyed 26 happy years wintering in Mesa, Ariz.
He is survived by his son, Todd Juntunen of Huron; and sister, Mary Ann Wendling of Lake Norden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay in 2010.
