MADISON — The De Smet Lady Bulldogs moved into the SoDak 16 Thursday night, on the strength of a 59-27 blowout of the Arlington Cardinals in Region 3B girls’ basketball tournament action.
The Bulldogs, now 20-1, will play a yet-to-be determined team next Thursday. Matchups and game sites will be released when all 16 teams have qualified.
De Smet opened up a 20-9 lead after one quarter, then held the Cardinals scoreless in the second period and only yielded five points in the third en route to the win.
Autumn Wilkinson scored 15 points for the Lady Bulldogs, Kristen Poppen scored 13 and hauled down 14 rebounds and Rynn Osthus added 12 points as De Smet moves on in postseason play.
