SENECA — Deon Senn, 77, of Seneca, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at the Faulkton Area Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Faulkton. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Seneca. A wake service will be 7 p.m., Friday at the church, with visitation two-hours prior.
Deon Agnes Zens was born July 29, 1940, in Aberdeen to Robert and Delores (Jankord) Zens. She graduated from Redfield High School in 1958, and attended Presentation College.
While working at her uncle Emery Jankord’s café in Seneca, she met Charles Senn. The couple raised their eight children on a farm south of Seneca. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, dancing, gardening and her beloved polka music.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Rolland) Potter of Seneca, Joan (Richard) Hahn of Pierre, Charla Harford (Sylis Kariah) of Redfield, Jim (Liz) Senn of Mitchell, Joe (Jodi) Senn of Seneca, Jerry (Heather) Senn of Nisland, and Cheri (Shane) Moke of Belle Fourche; siblings, Lucy (Jerome) Harvey of Sturgis, Roger (Deann) Zens of Zell, and Jim (Darlene) Zens of Faulkton; 26 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in dealth by her husband. Charles; daughter, Cara; and her parents.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Deon’s arrangements.
