HURON — Huron’s eighth-grade football teams emerged with a split in two games against Watertown on Monday.
Watertown edged the Tigers 6-0 in the A-game.
Mason Jurgens led Huron with six carries for 31 yards, while Landyn Mumbulo had four carries for 21 yards. Blake Ellwein had four catches for 38 yards, while Jurgens was 6 of 13 passing for 54 yards.
Charlie Martin and Rayshawn Wipf finished with four and three tackles, respectively, for the Tigers, who are now 2-1. Elwein and Mumbulo each had an interception.
Huron emerged with a 16-8 win in the B-game.
Kaleb Rashaad scored on a 7-yard run for the Tigers (1-1) and hauled in a 38-yard scoring strike from Tommy Martin.
Brady Meyer led Huron with six carries for 24 yards. Maxim Gross had five tackles, while Aiden Airheart recorded three tackles.
The Tigers will travel to play Brookings on Sept. 28.
