FAULKTON — Gerald E. Ryman Jr., 82, of Faulkton, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen.
Funeral Mass will be 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Faulkton. Burial will follow in the Faulkton Cemetery with military honors. A wake service will be 7 p.m. Monday at the church with visitation one hour prior.
Gerald Edward Ryman Jr. was born January 6, 1936, in Aberdeen to Gerald Ryman Sr. and Bernice (Lupient) Ryman. He was united in marriage to Lois Nipp June 2, 1953. He joined the Army in 1954. The family moved to Vermillion in 1958, where he took his plumbing and refrigeration training. In 1960, they moved to Faulkton where he started a plumbing business, retiring in 2005. After Lois passed away in 1999, Gerald was remarried to Minnie Tiegs.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie; children, Darla Raethz, Nancy Ryman both of Faulkton, Lori (Matthew) Harmel of Aberdeen, Kenny Ryman of Spearfish, and Curtis (Becky) Ryman of Huron; stepsons: Gary, Alan and Bob Tiegs; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; halfsisters, Carol (Daryl) Androli, and Rosemary (Tim) Martin; stepsisters, Virginia Collett, and Donna Huber; and stepbrother, Richard (Eileen) Hoffart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; stepmother, Rose Ryman; siblings, Lamoyl Heilman, and Larry and Samuel Ryman.
