MADISON — Ginger Joy Hallan, 44, of Madison and formerly of Huron, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
A celebration of her life will be 5 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Madison VFW. A family memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, in Iroquois.
Ginger was born June 19, 1973, and was raised in Parker, Colo. and attended Ponderosa High School. She later moved to Huron and gave birth to her only son, Tavyn Cole Hallan May 25, 1998.
She enjoyed being with friends, fishing, boating, partying, races, and watching her son’s school and sporting events. She also enjoyed watching crime and murder television shows. She collected dolphin figurines and accessories. She worked various skilled labor jobs and developed a love for baking treats and desserts.
She is survived by her son, Tavyn of Madison; parents, Don Marvel of Parker, Colo., Lois Bult of Huron, and Don Hallan of Iroquois, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donny Hallan, Jr.; grandparents, Clarence and Mary (Englehart) Weiss, and Hugo Englehart; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
