Helen Laura (Hanson) Freng, 92, of Plymouth, Minn

PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Helen Laura (Hanson) Freng, 92, of Plymouth, Minn., passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, surrounded by her four loving children.
A celebration of her life will be 11a.m., Saturday, July 22, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3695 Co. Rd. 101 N, Plymouth, Minn. with visitation one hour prior to the service. She will return to Alexandria, Minn. for her final resting place, next to her husband, Murrae.
Helen was born March 4, 1925, on a dairy farm in Bloomer, Wis. Helen graduated from Bloomer High School in 1942, and St. Olaf College in 1946. She began her teaching career in Brooten, Minn, where she met her future husband, Murrae. They were married February 4, 1950. Throughout their 64-year marriage, they were rarely apart. Theirs was an incredible love story and a true partnership, a model to us all.
Helen was strong, independent, gracious, and beautiful. Her lefse was second to none.
Helen is survived by her four loving children, Mary Ann (Ron) Gunderson, Kristi Ann (Jerry) Geyer, Deanna Ruth Manthei, and Alan Murrae (Michele) Freng; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Zeck, Megan (Jason) Brown, Clay (Amber) Miller, David (Michaela) Manthei, Sam, Paul, and Autumn Freng; four great-grandchildren, Gage, Rheya, Dessa, and Lincoln; two stepgrandchildren, Rachel (Brian) Fuhrman and Chelsea Geyer; and five stepgreat-grandchildren, Skylar, Aidan, Brylee, Chance, and Lillyana; and her brother, H. Robert (Bob) Hanson (Kay).
