FEDORA — Howard Martin Fish, 98, of Fedora, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017, at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, at noon with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard.
Howard Martin Fish was born September 10, 1919, on a farmstead southeast of Fedora to Albert and Judith (Friland) Fish. He graduated from Fedora High School in 1938. He became a farmhand working for farmers in the west river area and later by Blue Earth, Minn. He entered the U.S. Army serving during WWII, from 1942 to 1946. He returned to S.D. where he farmed with his brother Harvey.
He was united in marriage to Doris Boettcher February 14, 1953. The couple farmed in the Fedora area. He was active on the Clinton Township board and a board member for St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard.
He is survived by his children, Wayne Fish of Sioux Falls, Gail (Shannon) Macklin of Ariz., and Becky Demayo of Peoria, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; and siblings, Margaret, Helen, Clinton, and Harvey.
