RAPID CITY — The Huron Tigers wrestled their way to an eighth-place finish in the team race Saturday, as the Rapid City Invitational Wrestling Tournament wrapped up at the Civic Center.
The two-time defending S.D. Class “A” champion Pierre Governors finished atop the team standings with 214 points, edging the Rapid City Stevens Raiders by three points. Rapid City Central was third with 169.5 points.
Huron finished with 112.5 points, which was good for a solid eighth-place finish in the event.
After Friday’s opening round, four Tigers were still in the running to place at the early season tournament, which draws some of the top teams in South Dakota, North Dakota and Wyoming.
