HURON — The Huron Lady All-Stars earned their second win of the season with a 5-3 victory against Sioux Center on Sunday at Bergman Arena.
Sioux Center had the lone goal in the opening period, but the Lady All-Stars put the first two goals on the board in the second period to stake their first lead of the game.
Devin Hunter had the opening goal for Huron on a pass from Kylee Small just over a minute into the period.
Small then scored to put the Lady All-Stars in front 2-1. Hunter and Azalea Rashaad assisted on the play.
After the Lady Storm regained their advantage with a pair of goals, Huron closed the second period with back-to-back goals to carry a 4-3 lead into the final period.
Hunter scored her second goal of the game on an assist from Small and Kaitlynn Harms scored with Small earning her third assist of the game.
The Lady All-Stars had the lone goal in the third period. Jolie Carrillo scored with Small and Harms combining on the assist.
Huron recorded 29 shots on goal, while Sioux Center had 13. Marissa Ready had 10 saves to earn the win as the goalie for the Lady All-Stars, who are now 2-4.
Huron will host Mitchell at 7 p.m., at Bergman Arena.
Sioux Falls 9, Huron 1
SIOUX FALLS — Using five goals in the opening period, Sioux Falls recored a 9-1 win against the Huron Lady All-Stars on Saturday.
Rashaad had the lone goal for Huron in the opening period on an unassisted shot during a power play.
Sioux Falls had a 41-9 advantage in shots on goal during the game. Ready tallied 32 saves for the Lady All-Stars.
Oahe 7, Huron 3
Small had the first goal for the Lady All-Stars in the second period on an unassisted shot.
The Lady Capitals put two more goals on the board to build a 5-1 lead before Huron scored its second goal.
Harms found the net for the Lady All-Stars, with Juliana Goethel and Small assisting on the play to make it 5-2 heading into the final period.
After Oahe put two more goals on the board, Small recorded her second goal for Huron with an unassisted shot.
Ready faced 34 shots in the net for the Lady All-Stars and stopped 27 of them. Huron finished with 22 shots on goal.
