Late Tuesday volleyball

Miller 3, Redfield-Doland 0

MILLER — The Miller Rustlers, ranked No. 2 in the latest Class “A” volleyball poll, dispatched the Redfield-Doland Pheasants 3-0 Tuesday night, in non-conference action. Set scores for the Rustlers were 25-21, 27-25 and 25-16.
Kadye Fernholz clubbed 16 kills and led the defense with 21 digs to pace the Rustlers, who move to 13-2 with the win.

Rachel Olligmueller handed out 38 assists in the game and Elise Brooks had four ace serves and eight kills. Madison Wetz had three aces and contributed eight digs.
Game stats for Redfield-Doland were not available. Miller is back in action tonight when it hosts Hitchcock-Tulare.

James Valley Christian 3, De Smet 2

HURON — The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings took the first two sets, saw the De Smet Lady Bulldogs come back to win the next two sets, then held on for a 15-8 win in the fifth and deciding set Tuesday night in non-conference volleyball action.
JVC, now 4-6 on the season, was led by Julie Blom who had 16 kills, four ace serves and four blocks in the game. Angelina Zuccaro added nine kills and led the defense with 30 digs, while Bekah Williams passed out 28 assists. Josalyn Wipf led the Lady Vs with eight blocks.
JVC hosts Wolsey-Wessington tonight and De Smet is on the road at Castlewood this evening.
