MITCHELL — The Huron Tiger golf team traveled to Mitchell on Thursday, going head-to-head with the host Kernels at Lakeview Golf Course, settling for a tie.
Huron had the top golfer in the field, but five on the next six spots belonged to the Kernels.
Using a team score of 332, Mitchell edged the Tigers by a stroke for the victory.
“A putt here or there would have made the difference out there today,” Rozell said. “I thought we shot decent scores.”
Huron’s Nolan Wiegel shot 72 to easily take medalist honors on the day.
“Nolan shot par for the course, but he lost a ball on the second hole. He was three over after three holes, so he had a mess of birdies the rest of the way,” Rozell said.
Mitchell’s Nick Bennett and Max Dailey were 10 strokes back, with teammate Liam Fergen shooting an 84.
