MILLER — After leading from start to finish, Destrie Morris collect her first feature win in the pure stock feature race on Saturday at Miller Central Speedway. She became the third female in the history of the track to ink a feature win.
While Morris had a hold on the top spot, Jordan Rawstern of Blunt and Mike Hammill of Miller battled for the second spot in the pure stock feature race. Rawstern prevailed to claim the runner-up spot, while Hammill was third. Trevor Ryan of Highmore was fourth, followed by Paxton George of Rapid City.
Lorin Johnson of Miller held off a late charge by Kyle Knouse of Huron to secure his 76th feature win with a victory in the WISSOTA Midwest modifield main event.
Johnson, who started eighth, passed Tanner Grohs of Wessington Springs for the lead on the third lap and held on for the victory. Knouse, who was just inches from claiming the win, was second, followed by Cory Berquist of Huron, Tanner Zweifel of Watertown and Dylan Zabel of Selby.
Cole Searing of Huron earned his 37th feature win in the WISSOTA super stock division on Saturday. The victory puts him just one shy of the feature win mark set by Johnson in the division at the speedway.
Searing started fifth and grabbed the lead on the second lap from Casey Hanson of Badger. He led the rest of the way. Kipp DeGroot of Platte would also pass Hanson late in the race for the second spot.
Hanson was third, followed by Bowdry Morris of Miller and Jeremy North of Huron.
After missing the heat race, Alex Guthmiller of Huron came from the back of the six-car field to win the WISSOTA modified feature event.
Dale Ames of Huron led the opening lap of the modified main event before David Carlson of Huron took over the top spot for the next five laps. Guthmiller moved to the front on the following lap and led the rest of the way.
Carlson was second, followed by Mike Stearns of Hecla, Ames and Kent Arment of Aberdeen.
Preston Blackwell of Miller topped the 14-car field in the WISSOTA street stock feature race. It was his sixth feature win at the track.
Blackwell gained the top spot from Zach Pollock of Miller on a restart and stayed in control the rest of the way.
The battle for the second spot was a bit more heated, as Chris Serr of Aberdeen tapped Broc Stout of Winner coming out of turn four on the final lap at the two battled for the spot. Serr was awarded the spot, while Stout would finish 10th.
Andy Rossow of Florence was third, followed by James Hoing of Kimball and Clifford Houser of Kimball.
After passing Dustin Arthur of Miller for the lead on the ninth lap of the 20-lap feature race, Josh Skorczewski of Aberdeen survived a late-race caution to earn his third feature win at Miller Central Speedway.
Skorczewski held off a challenge for Aberdeen's Kent Arment for the win. Arthur was third, followed by Curt Gelling of Aberdeen and Blair Nothdurft of Sioux Falls.
