Posted

HURON — Sioux Falls O’Gorman used a score of 333 to win the team title during the Huron Invitational on Thursday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
Aberdeen Central finished at 340 to edge Yankton by a point for the second spot, while Pierre was fourth at 347 and Rapid City Stevens was fith at 349.
Megan Parsons of Harrisburg turned in a low round of 78 to claim the medalist honors. However, she had to share the spotlight with Margaret Meierhenry of Sioux Falls Lincoln, who used a pitching wedge from 110 yards to record a hole-in-one on the 17th hole.
Erin Trohkimoinen of Rapid City Central, Jenna Sutcliffe of Sioux Falls O’Gorman and Natalie Young of Rapid City Stevens shared the second spot with scores of 80.

Cassidy Gough of Aberdeen Central and Linze Cowman of Yankton had scores of 81 to finish tied for fifth.
Huron finished with a score of 399, which put them just outside the top 11 in the final standings, but coach Chris Rozell was happy with the way his team performed on its home course, which will host the Class AA State Golf Meet.
“It was a good day for our young Tiger golf team,” Rozell said. “A score under 400 is showing improvement. It was a very positive day.”
Huron heads right back into action today at the Yankton Invitational.
