MILLER — Paul Engelmann, 97, of Miller, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at his home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. Burial with military honors will follow in G.A.R. Cemetery at Miller. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday with a 7 p.m. prayer service, all at the church.
Paul Jurin was born November 3, 1920, in Ohio Township to Essatina “Tina” (Gortmaker) and Onno Robert “John” Engelmann. He graduated from the 8th grade in the country school near their home in 1935. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942, and was discharged in 1946. He served as a driver and tank mechanic.
He was united in marriage to Alice Nielsen June 13, 1949. The couple made their home southwest of Miller.
He is survived by his children, Pauline (Jim) Bevers, Larry (Ellen) Engelmann, Mike Engelmann, Ruth (Bruce) Hefty, Donald Engelmann, Darwin (Dawn) Engelmann, and Darlene (Braden) Nedved; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Beth Kelsey Engelmann, and Gleva Schlotter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; son, Charles; granddaughter, Brenna Engelmann; brothers, John and George; sister, Sylvia; great-grandchildren, Madison Bevers, and Gage Engelmann.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Paul’s arrangements.
