OLATHE, Kan. — Rhoda Rhoads, 85, passed away at her home in Olathe, Kan.
A private family burial service was held on Thursday, Sept. 7, at Leavenworth National Cemetery. A memorial service is scheduled at College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kan., at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, with visitation one hour prior to the service at 3 p.m.
Rhoda was born to Rev. John P. and Sarah Tschetter on March 1, 1932, near Carpenter, where she was raised. She attended one year of high school in Huron, then moved with her parents to Lewellen, Neb., where she graduated from high school. She then returned to Huron where she worked for Northwestern Public Service for several years.
She married Vernon Rhoads on Aug. 24, 1953, in Wessington Springs.
She is survived by three daughters, Althea, Arleta (Dave) and Gloria (Marc); two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters and two brothers.
