HURON — Rodney F. Leyendecker, 73 of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at his home in Huron. A private family service will be held.
Rodney Leyendecker was born on December 14, 1945 in Paynesville, Minnesota to parents Norman M. and Katherine (Beire) Leyendecker.
Rod married Esther Jacobs on August 1, 1969 in Phillipsburg, Kan.
Rod attended Bemidji State University graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Rod worked for Northwestern Public Service for 27 years, holding numerous positions, retiring in 2002. In his spare time, Rod enjoyed hunting-duck, pheasant, deer, and elk. Rod’s true passion was his horses and racing thoroughbreds. Rod was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David.
Grateful to have shared in his life is his wife, Esther, of Huron; his children, Jennifer Reuer of Webster, John Leyendecker of Huron, and Jason (Cheri) Leyendecker of Huron; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
