POLO — Ronald George Wieseler, 69, of Polo, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 surrounded by his family at home.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., today at St. Liborius Catholic Church at Polo. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Polo.
Ron was born June 14, 1948, in Faulkton to Dominic and Josephine (Sprenger) Wieseler. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1966, and from Dakota State College in 1971. He was united in marriage to Sharon Barkley April 8, 1972. He retired from farming in 2002, and was a crop insurance adjuster until 2012. He was a member of Saint Liborius Catholic Church and the Polo/Orient Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Lisa (Eric) Christianson of Fargo, N.D., Matt (Amy McKee) Wieseler of Falls Church, Va., Ben Wieseler of Gettysburg, and Rita (Mike) Moe of Aberdeen; ten grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Virgena) Wieseler of Pierre, Jerry (Carol) Wieseler of Groton, Pat Wieseler (Michelle Burleson) of Watertown; parents-in-law, Ray and Lois Barkley of Lake Andes; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Wieseler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any family you know who is fighting cancer.
