ALLEN, Texas — Shane Everett Briggs, 44, of Allen, Texas, passed away Friday,March 2, 2018.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Hunters Glen Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, Interment will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
Shane was born March 29, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, to Jimmie and Myra (White) Briggs. He married Nikki Reuer November 10, 2001. He was a registered nurse with Fresenius Health Partners and owner of Surface Design Group.
He was an avid baseball fan and coach.He was also a children’s book author and songwriter. He cared deeply about Prader-Willi Syndrome fundraising for research dedicated to his son, Laden. He was loved by friends and family and touched so many lives.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Rylan Briggs, and Laden Briggs both of Allen, Texas; Brandon Briggs, Chandler Briggs, Dawson Briggs all of Plano, Texas, and Mason Montgomery of Fischer, Texas; mother, Myra Briggs of Pensacola, Fla.; sisters, Becky Fussell, and Cindy Wackes both of Pensacola; and step-father, Kevin Farrow also of Pensacola.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Ronnie Briggs; grandmother, Irma White; grandfather, Ed Briggs; and grandmother, Beatrice Briggs.
Memorial donations may be made to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.
