HURON — After St. Thomas More won two of the three doubles matches, including one with a tiebreaker, against the Huron boys’ tennis team, the two teams split in the six singles matches allowing the Cavaliers to escape with a 5-4 victory on Thursday at Huron Courts.
“I think all the boys played very well against tough competition,” Huron coach Tim Hedblom said.
Winning singles matches for the Tiges were Eh Dah at No. 4, Roger Puterbaugh at No. 5 and Eh Kalu at No. 6.
“They all played very well and picked up big wins,” Hedblom said. “Kalu and Moo Shere won a very good match at No. 3 doubles.
Huron returns to action at the Brookings Quadrangular at 10 a.m. Saturday.
