CLASS AA
Harrisburg 3, Watertown 2
The Harrisburg Lady Tigers seeded number one, and the fifth seeded Watertown Arrows went head to head, as Harrisburg took the 3-2 win on Friday night in a five set battle for the Class “AA” Championship game, tonight at 8 p.m., MT.
Set scores for the Harrisburg Tigers, now 22-1 on the season were 25-11, 26-24, 25-11, 23-25 and 12-15, while the Arrows’ record dropped to 15-8.
The Harrisburg Tigers were led by Madison Wassink with 17 kills and 12 digs, while Meghan Krull hit 14 kills and one ace. Avery Thorson made 40 assists for Harrisburg, while Ashlee Cain hit three aces, seven kills and 14 digs.
Leading the Arrows was Sophie Tietz with three aces and eight kills, while Annie Nordberg hit two aces, one kill, 17 assists and 10 digs.
The Arrows will play for third place in Class “AA” State Volleyball at 12:30 p.m., MT, today.  

Aberdeen Central 3, Sioux Falls O’Gorman 0
The Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles smashed the Sioux Falls O’Gorman Lady Knights, 3-0, in the consolation semifinals of the Class AA State Tournament on Friday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.  
The Golden Eagles, now 17-6 on the season will compete for fifth place today at 10:45 a.m. MT.
Set scores were 25-19, 26-24 and 25-15.
Leading Aberdeen Central were Brooklyn Kusler and Cassidy Gough, each with 11 kills, while Myah Malchow made three aces. Haylee Mork made 35 assists, while Brooklyn Hofer hit eight kills for the Golden Eagles.
The Lady Knights, now with a season record of 17-17, were led by Emma Ronsiek with 11 kills and one ace, while Ellee Ohnoutka hit two aces. O’Gorman will play for seventh place today at 9 a.m. MT.

Thursday’s late match
Sioiux Falls Washington 3, Mitchell 2
The Sioux Falls Washington Warriors defeated the Mitchell Kernels 3-2 in a five-set nail biter Thursday night in Class “AA” State Volleyball.
Leading the match for the Warriors were Samiya Jami and Sydni Schetnan, who each hit 13 kills, while Laura Petterson had 10 kills. Hailey Olson hit three aces and 30 assists, and Lily Bartling hit nine kills and three aces.
Mitchell was led by Mackenzie Miller with 20 kills and one ace, followed by Chelsea Brewster with 12 kills. Mandy Schmidt made 38 assists and hit two kills for the Kernels, while Carly Haring hit seven kills.

Class A
Sioux Falls Christian 3, Madison 0
The top seeded Sioux Falls Christian Chargers progress to tomorrow’s Class “A” Championship match at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center after a 3-0 win against the Madison Lady Bulldogs on Friday night.

Set scores for the chargers, now 30-4 on the season, were 25-20, 25-16 and 25-19, while the Bulldogs dropped to 26-5.
Leading the Chargers was Ellie Voss with 16 kills and one ace, followed by Kylee Van Egdom with ten kills and two aces. Samantha Fykstra made 37 assists for the Chargers, while Emily Strasser hit two aces.
The Bulldogs were led by Olivia Rud with six kills and one ace, while Jessi Giles hit two kills and two aces. Shania Schwebach made 16 assists and two kills for the Bulldogs, who will play for third place today at 12:30 p.m., MT.

Sioux Valley 3, Parker 2
The Sioux Valley Cossacks took a 3-2 win against the Parker Pheasants in a five set match Friday afternoon at the Class “A” State Volleyball Tournament.
Set scores for the Cossacks, now 26-4 on the season, were 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 25-15 and 15-10, while the Pheasants season record dropped to 25-7.
The Cossacks were led by Nikole Ziegler with 24 kills, while Lynsey Stevens hit 20 kills and one ace. Rachel Miller had 57 assists and one kill; Miakken Vincent hit four kills and one ace, while Bryn Tvedt had ten kills and 13 digs.
Leading the Pheasants was Hannah Viet with 21 kills, while Grace Leberman had 18 kills and 16 digs. Hannah Even made 49 assists, and Karley Peters hit six kills.
Today the Cossacks will take on the McCook Central-Montrose Fighting Cougars for fifth place at 10:45 a.m., MT, in the Consolation Championship at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. Parker will play the Miller Rustlers at 9 a.m., MT, for seventh place.
 
Thursday’s late match
Dakota Valley 3, Parker 0
The Dakota Valley Panthers defeated the Parker Pheasants 3-0, late Friday evening at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City.
Set scores for the Panthers were 25-16, 25-12 and 25-18.
The Panthers were led by Meredith Lammers with 15 kills, while Alyssa Johnson had four aces, and Hanna Cummins hit two aces. Ally Beresford made 38 assists, and Elizabeth Lammers hit two kills and one ace.
Leading the Pheasants were Hannah Viet with seven kills and Raelin Jurgens with six kills, while Hannah Even made 19 assists.

Class B
Northwestern 3, Herreid-Selby Area 0
The top seeded Northwestern Wildcats took a 3-0 against the Herreid-Selby Area Wolverines in the State Volleyball Championship Semifinals Class “B” match Friday night.
Set scores for the Wildcats, 34-1 on the season, were 25-12, 25-9 and 25-16. The Wolverines’ season record dropped to 30-3.
Leading the Wildcats was Riley Grandpre with 15 kills and Miranda Thorson with five aces. Evy Peterson hit 12 kills for the Wildcats, while Madalyn Groft hit five kills and made 38 assists.
The Wolverines were led by Charlie Tisdall with five kills, Rachel Fiedler hit four kills and Jaida Krein hit three kills.
The Wildcats will progress to play for first place at 4 p.m., MT, today, while the Wolverines will fight for third at 12:30 p.m., MT, in the Civic Center.

Hanson 3, Faith 1
RAPID CITY — The Hanson Beaverettes defeated the Faith Lady Longhorns, 3-1, sending the Beaverettes to play for the fifth place Consolation Championship today at 10:45 a.m. MT, in the Class “B” State Volleyball Tournament.
Set scores for the Beaverettes, now 28-3 on the season, were 23-25, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-18.  
Leading the Hanson Beaverettes were Brooklyn Slaba and Jada Campbell, both with 10 kills and Slaba with an ace plus 12 digs. Heather Kayser hit one ace and made 28 assists, while Allison Bahmuller hit six kills, one ace and five digs.
The Lady Longhorns were led by Mikenzy Miller, who hit 13 kills and one ace, while Sydnie Schauer had 29 assists and three aces. Another nine kills were hit by Jayden Shoemaker, and six kills were hit by Aiyana Byrd.
The Longhorns’ season record dropped to 21-13, and they will play for seventh place today at 9 a.m. MT.

Burke-South Central 3, Deubrook Area 0
The Burke-South Central Cougars dominated in a match against the Deubrook Lady Dolphins with a 3-0 win at the Civic Center Friday afternoon.
The Cougars’ set scores were 25-17, 25-12 and 25-19, now with a season record of 29-6, while the Dolphins’ record dropped to 25-9.
The Cougars were led by Taylee Indahl with 15 kills and two aces, while Tressa Bull hit 11 kills. Bobbi Jo Wischmann had three aces and 27 assists, and Lahna Matucha hit seven kills and 18 digs.
Leading the Dolphins were Shaylee DeBeer with seven kills and Andrea Vandermeer, who hit five kills and one ace.
The Cougars will battle the Hanson Beaverettes for fifth place at 10:45 a.m., MT, while the Faith Lady Longhorns will take on the Dolphins for seventh at 9 a.m., MT, in Class “B” State Volleyball.

Thursday late match
Chester Area 3, Deubrook Area 0
The Chester Area Flyers took a 3-0 win against the Deubrook Lady Dolphins on Thursday night at Class “B” State Volleyball.
Set scores for the Flyers were 25-21, 25-18 and 25-17.
Leading the Flyers was Dakota Alfson with 16 kills and one ace, and Hailey Ewoldt hit two aces, two kills and made 35 assists. Jadon Wages hit eight kills followed by Makenna Larson who hit seven kills.
The Pheasants were led by Shaylee DeBeer with 11 kills, 13 assists and one ace, while Ashley Vandermeer hit eight kills.
