HURON — Sterling Neil Salter, 35, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at his home.
His memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1450 Frank Ave. S.E.
Sterling was born July 2, 1982, at Overland Park, Kan. to Donald and Patricia (Gibson) Salter. He grew up in a number of places, because his father traveled for work.
He was home schooled by his mother, served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and then returned to Huron to help his parents. He loved animals, especially the cats and rabbits he raised.
He worked as a salesman for the Salter Agency and also for TEWCO. He also worked for Pro Realty as an administrative assistant. Everyone who worked with or met Sterling loved him.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many roles as Young Men’s President, Music Director and Executive Secretary.
He is survived by his father; siblings, Howard Salter of Texas, Warren Salter of Mo., and Emily Fay Bingham of Utah; and grandmother, Fay Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents, Howard Salter, Gladys Lorraine Vaughn, and George Gibson.
