HURON — Steven Harley Bown, 58, of Huron, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at home, surrounded by family and staff.
A memorial service will 1 p.m., Saturday, September 8, at the Huron Campus Center, 333 9th Street Southwest in Huron. Refreshments will follow.
Steve was born September 7, 1959, in Gettysburg to Marion (Buck) and Alma Bown. He grew up on the family farm until 1965, when the family moved to Aberdeen. In the 1970’s, he moved with his parents to Mobridge where he resided until the death of his mother in 1999. Steve then entered a group home in Lemmon.
In November 2010, he moved to Huron to be close to family. 1030 House of the Center for Independence became his home for the next eight years. Despite his challenges in life, he was generally upbeat and cheerful.
He is survived by his sisters, Carol (Ron) Passmore, and Nola (Bob) Spoerl.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David.
