HURON — The Miller Rustlers took control of a match against the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings, with a 3-0 sweep to improve the season record for the Rustlers to 21-2 in volleyball on Thursday.
Set scores for the Rustlers, who are ranked No. 2 in Class A, were 25-18, 25-9, 25-9.
James Valley (8-9) had three kills hit by Brenna Held, who also made seven blocks. Julia Blom added two kills, Bekah Williams served two aces and made three assists, while Allison Blom and Kerstyn Fast each made one ace for the team.
No statistics were available for Miller.
James Valley will travel to Aberdeen today for a match against the Knights, while Miller heads to Kimball to take on the WildKats on Monday.

CLEAR LAKE — A 3-0 victory claimed by the Clark-Willow Lake Cyclones improved the team’s record to 13-6, after defeating the Deuel Cardinals in Class “B” volleyball action on Thursday night in Clear Lake.
The Cyclones had set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-20, to set Deuel’s record back with the loss to 5-20 on the season.
Abbie Bratland and Morgan Burke each hit one ace for Clark-Willow Lake, as Bratland also hit 10 kills and made 14 digs for the team, while Janae Kolden tallied 12 kills and 12 digs.
Deuel’s Jaydyn TeGantvoort made two aces and hit ten kills to lead the Cardinals. Twyla Rossow totaled seven kills and one ace. Molly Dye also served an ace, while Kendra Damm hit six kills.
The Cyclones will host Hamlin in Willow-Lake on Saturday, while the Cardinals are set to travel to Lake Benton on Tuesday.

MILLER — The Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders claimed a 3-0 win over the Iroquois Chiefs in a Class “B” volleyball match hosted by the Crusaders on Thursday night.
Set scores for the Crusaders were 25-19, 25-21, 25-15, which improved the team’s record to 2-15 with the win, while the Chiefs fell to a 0-23 season record.
Beth Konechne served seven aces and hit three kills for the Crusaders, Shariah Brockel tallied 13 kills, while Lindsey Wilken totaled ten kills and 14 digs to assist in the win.
The Chiefs were led by Harley Nelson with six kills and two aces, Hannah Hofhenke made 12 assists, while Heather Geyer totaled 14 digs for the team.
Sunshine Bible Academy will host Wessington Springs on Tuesday, while Iroquois will host Canistota on Monday.
