Toupal, Brewer win all-around titles at LB rodeo

HURON — Lily Toupal of Huron and Charleigh Brewer of Wessington won all-around titles in the Little Wrangler division during the Dakota Prairie Little Britches Rodeo, which was held Saturday and Sunday at the Beef Complex on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.
More than 50 contestants ranging in age from 5-17 particpated in the event, which included three separate performances.
Lily Toupal won the all-around title in the first rodeo on Saturday by placing first in pole bending, second in flag racing, third in goat tail untying and fourth in barrel racing. She also won the pole bending in the third rodeo on Sunday and was third in barrel racing.

Brewer won the all-around title during the second rodeo on Saturday by placing first in the barrel racing and goat tail untying, and was third in the flag race.
She also finished as the all-around runner-up during Sunday’s rodeo by winning the barrel racing, finishing second in goat tail untying and third in the flag race.
Raya Toupal of Huron placed in the flag race during all three rodeos to earn three of the five qualifications needed to compete at the National Little Britches Finals Rodeo, which will be held in July 2019 in Guthrie, Okla.
