SIOUX FALLS — Vera Caroline Bartell, 79, of Sioux Falls, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, at Trinity Baptist Church in Sioux Falls.
Vera was born July 5, 1938, in Linton, N.D. to William (Bill) and Martha Job. She was united in marriage to Henry Bartell July 2, 1961, Linton, N.D.
She attended college in Valley City, N.D. and taught school near Linton. She worked for several years the Fair City Lanes bowling alley in Huron, behind the lunch counter, and in her later years, had several jobs working with the elderly and at-risk children. In Sioux Falls she worked at South Dakota Achieve (now Lifescape) and Southeastern Behavioral Health.
She is survived by her husband, Henry; her children, William (Lisa) Bartell of Sioux Falls, Crystal Gassman of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Christopher (Melissa) Bartell of Grand Prairie, Texas, five grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Erin, Katherine, and Caroline; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Verda (Reuben) Tschritter of Fargo, N.D., Wilma (Jim) McMillen of Petersburg, Ind., Esther (Vern) Wolff of Cormorant, Minn., Kathy (Al) Pridnia of Allentown, Mich., Wallace (Kathy) Job of Bismark, N.D., and Donald (Donna) Job of Stillwater, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Job; a brother, Arnold Job; and son-in-law, Paul Gassman.
