HURON — Victor Schneider, 95, of Huron, passed away August 5, 2018, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, at Bethesda Church. Burial will be in the Ideal Cemetery with military honors by the Huron Veterans Council. Visitation is today from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with his family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Victor Christian Schneider was born October 21, 1922, to Otto and Euginia (Kraft) Schneider at Scotland. He was united in marriage to Ida V. Neuharth September 24, 1944. He was drafted into the Army during WWII March 7, 1945. He was honorably discharged on May 30, 1946. The couple farmed most of their married life in the Alpena and Huron area. They also lived a short time in Oregon. In addition to farming, he was employed by the Armour Packing Plant.
He is survived by his three children, Lynn (Gloria) Schneider of Huron, Ardyce (Jim) Hill of Knox City, Texas, and Rick (Angie) Schneider of Sioux City, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Beverly Schneider of Nampa, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; his parents; stepmother, Anna (Wurz) Schneider; two brothers, LeRoy Schneider, and Melvin (Faye) Schneider; sister, Ruby (Helmuth) Ochsner; one nephew; and one niece.
