MILLER — William “Bill” Oligmueller, 84, of Miller, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 22, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Miller. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery at Miller. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday with a 6:30 p.m. rosary service and 7 p.m. prayer service, all at St. Ann’s Church in Miller.
Bill was born on March 18, 1933, in Hand County to Herman and Rose (Koeck) Oligmueller. He graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army in the Honor Guard for President Dwight Eisenhower. After his service in the army, Bill came back home to work on the farm.
He was united in mariage to Audrey Thompson September 25, 1958. The couple farmed northeast of Miller. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and served on the Miller School Board.
He is survived by his children, Meri (Michael) Fischer of N.C., Todd (Susan) Oligmueller of Pierre, and Suzanne (Bob) Murphy of Elk Point; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Shawn Oligmueller; brother, Herman “Junior” Oligmueller; and sister, Rosemary Augspurger.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Bill’s arrangements.
