Hitchcock-Tulare wins three in Estelline-Hendricks tournament
ESTELLINE – The fifth-ranked Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots went undefeated on Saturday at the Estelline-Hendricks tournament in Estelline.

The Lady Pats swept Langford 25-7 and 25-17 in the opening match with Langford.

Katelyn Schroeder had nine kills on 16 of 17 hitting to lead the attack and had seven digs to lead the defense. Lila Johnson was 26 of 27 setting with seven assists and was 11 of 12 serving with three aces.

Isabel Gilbert was a perfect 13 of 13 serving with four aces.

The Patriots swept Great Plains Lutheran in the second game in two sets.

Schroeder had 12 kills on 20 of 20 hitting and added 11 digs. Lila Johnson set up the offense with 15 assists on 32 of 33 setting.

In the championship, Hitchcock-Tulare defeated the host Estelline-Hendricks 25-20 and 25-10.

Schroeder was 23 of 23 hitting with 15 kills and had 10 digs. Lila Johnson was 34 of 34 setting with 12 assists while Gracyn Bixler had 11 assists on 25 of 26 setting.

Cambree Hoekman had 10 digs.

The Lady Patriots, now 5-0, travel to Faulkton Tuesday.

Cyclones win three at Flandreau tourney
FLANDREAU – The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones move to 4-2 on the season with three victories Saturday at the Flandreau Tournament, winning all six sets.

In the first matchup, the Cyclones defeated Flandreau Indian School 25-9 and 25-5.

Hannah Heiman was 19 of 21 serving with six aces for CWL. Shay Michalski led the attack with seven kills on 10 of 11 hitting. Sami Brenden had 16 assists.

The Cyclones then defeated host Flandreau 28-26 and 25-19.

Michalski had seven kills on 17 of 20 hitting and also was 8-10 serving with a pair of aces. Avery Lee and Helman were each perfect serving and recorded two aces apiece.

Brenden had 15 assists and Kate Larson had eight digs to lead the Cyclones.

The final victory for Clark/Willow Lake was over Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 25-19 and 25-17.

Michalski had 10 kills for the Cyclones on 17 of 20 hitting while nailing three aces from the service line. Larson had 10 digs and Brenden had 15 assists to lead CWL.

The Cyclones are back in action on the road against Wilmot.
