HURON — Community Liaison Mickie Scheibe and Registered Nurse Dennise Brock were guest speakers at a recent Huron Noon Lions Club meeting.
They presented information about diabetes projects at Huron Regional Medical Center.
Community members interested in becoming more educated about self-management of diabetes to improve their health may enroll in free six-week long series of workshops.

Lion Dianne Gropper presented information about Camp Gilbert, a camp for kids ages 8-18 with type 1 diabetes. Camp Gilbert provides a safe camping experience for youth living with Type 1 diabetes and managing tips to learn about the disease, self-acceptance, and how to apply those learned skills in their personal lives.
